Every discipline has their positives and negatives, but on our end of the spectrum one thing always stood out, the reining horse always fits in seamlessly anywhere you want to put them.
Reining horses at their core are extremely disciplined and well-broke. They’ve been trained to take direction and be willingly guided. So even at the end of the ones that “don’t make it” they can easily be someone’s perfect horse.
To be successful with today’s horses great partnerships are the single most important component. Many believe that the relationship between the horse and the rider comes first, however it’s THE OWNER of the horse that is most important. My greatest achievements all began with a trusted partnership between an owner and myself. It’s always the owner that allowed me the opportunity to then work, train and partner with their exceptional horses.
